Philosophy of Counseling

I believe that growth can come from adversity, and no one escapes the difficulties and trials that occur in different times in our lives. I believe it is a sign of strength to ask for help, and I would be honored to be invited to walk alongside you and provide the encouragement, support and clinical expertise you need to overcome your difficulties. I especially enjoy helping others who allow God to use their adversities to help them become the person God created them to be as they closer to God and to others.

Professional Experience and Community Involvement

I have worked over the past 35 years, as both a social worker and clinical counselor in a variety of settings and population groups. This has included inpatient, residential, and outpatient counseling experiences with children through older adults. I have specialized training and experience in helping individuals with depression, anxiety and trauma.
I am actively involved with my church’s mission board and I have been on several short-term mission trips to developing countries. I love meeting people from different cultures, learning about their various traditions and perspectives, and seeing how God is working in their lives. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the EMDR International Association.
