Philosophy of Counseling
It is my belief that we, as humans, are created with the built-in capabilities needed for strength and healing. I feel it is my work as a counselor to help others explore what is already within themselves to better experience their lives. I consider my calling to be helping others discover their true potential in utilizing the gifts God has given them. I believe in the wellness of individuals, which means approaching people as holistic and interconnected beings. My approach to counseling holds the client as the expert in their own life. I as a counselor bring training in helping and healing; the counseling relationship is the partnership in which both individuals combine their unique knowledge, skill sets, and resources to best cultivate the healing process. I also believe everyone experiences grief in their life and learning to work through grief is an inherent and necessary part of living and thriving.
Reading, travel, walks and being outside, finding wellness in my own life through yoga, meditation, reiki, and other modalities.
Areas I am Most Passionate About
Wellness, grief, emotional awareness, intelligence, and education, helping teens with self-exploration, confidence, and self-esteem, women’s issues, relationships, helping people discover and become their best and truest self.
LGBTQ+ friendly (though I still have a lot to learn)
